I am a portfolio GP with a background in academia, policy, and education & training. I completed an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship at the University of Oxford, and my general practice training in East Berkshire. I have had secondary care experience in Trauma and Orthopaedics, Emergency Medicine, General Surgery, Elderly Medicine and Acute Medicine.
I am an alumnus of the National Medical Director's Clinical Fellowship scheme. I co-authored the new return to practice scheme for GPs and contributed to various national programmes, campaigns, and policy at Health Education England. I have also completed several leadership training programmes and am a PRINCE2 Practitioner. I am engaged with RCGP, being both a Clinical Adviser as well as the Honorary Secretary for the Thames Valley Faculty.
I am also involved in medical education and examine final year OSCEs for St Georges University of London Medical School, in addition to the PLAB exam for the GMC. I am an approved Out of Hours Clinical Supervisor for the Oxford Deanery as well. Previously I was a Specialist Advisor for CQC for their hospital inspections.
Outside of medicine I am involved in local community organising for several years and have been elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. I am also a local authority governor for a voluntary aided primary school.
